La Métropole Européenne de Lille va accueillir la Coupe du Monde de Rugby 2023 ! Elle vient de signer la convention de partenariat, c'est donc désormais officiel.
Le stade Pierre Mauroy organisera au moins 4 matchs du mondial. Une première pour le stade de Villeneuve d'Ascq après l'Eurobasket en 2015, l'Euro de football en 2016, le mondial de handball en 2017 et à plusieurs reprises la Coupe Davis de tennis.
