Le club picard, en difficulté depuis de nombreux mois, devait gagner son dernier match pour espérer se maintenir.
Mais, pour la 33ème journée de championnat de Ligue 2, il s'est une nouvelle fois incliné 3 à 1, contre le Red Star FC.
14 ans après, les Amiénois redescendent au troisième échelon du football français.
Avec 24 points au classement, il ne leur reste qu'une rencontre à assurer, le samedi 9 mai face à Saint-Etienne.
